Is Pcpartpicker a good website if I want to build my own PC?
PCPartPicker checks compatibility, be it for the cpu, motherboard, RAM, USB headers between the case and motherboard, and drive bays for the case. It also tells you if there is something you should know about, for example, a BIOS version warning like for ryzen 5000 series, or when using an m.2 SSD could cover some SATA headers.

It is still valuable to know which part is cheaper, and a small better featur it has which shows daily price drops/increase(specially helpful if you need some particular brand/part).

Was picking out a new build to go with my 7800X3D, already had PSU, case, heatsync, and GPU from my old CPU, just needed MBO and RAM. PCpartpicker recommended a nice set of 7000mhz RAM with the MBO it recommended for the 7800X3D. I put the build together with my old parts and the new parts in PCPartpicker, no warnings, no issues.

May 4, 2023 · PCPartPicker looks at several retailers (Newegg included), so you will sometimes find better deals on the same parts and have more choice in parts if you use pcpp as your main search/build tool. It doesn’t hurt to look at elsewhere as well, but that’s also the reason you don’t want to look only at Newegg.

Aug 19, 2019 · Add 120 to 600. Bam. Not very. Pc part picker is great for getting a build and best prices but not wattage estimates. I highly recommend this instead it’s what most of us use to get an accurate measurement. Also you’ll always want to get 50W over the actual estimated usage just in case and to give headroom.
