Feb 7, 2016 · Win10 x64 Confirm. Windows 10 seems to be able to play Portal and Portal 2 with no new problems. Windows 10 doesn't seem to have any issues with portal 2. I meet all system requierments except OS, and all I find online is Windows 8 issues. Would really like to play split screen co-op, but want to make sure it works.

I installed it on win 7 and win 10 - runs with no problems. post your system specs - maybe something will stand out. steam help/system information - copy paste everything here. #11.

Jul 31, 2015 · Try running compat mode on the steam clients in windows 7/8.1 I would try doing this Portal 2 as well. Windows should able to detect and run compatabilty mode for application, rather than having to manually force a program to start in compat mode.

Then I reinstalled Steam, and didn't check the 'Run steam' at the end of the install. Instead, I moved my steamapps folder back into the newly created steam folder and ran Steam manually. Finally I launched Portal 2 and it worked. The game is however 'unstable' for a HL source game I think. When I alt-tab the game crashes.

Dec 6, 2015 · This is the answer. Someone almost had it right. But, what you need to do is go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Portal 2. Right click for properties and select the compatibility tab and uncheck compatibility mode. Yes that is correct. Windows 10 no longer needs compatibility mode to run Portal 2.
