Corsair makes great radiators and fans, but their newer “Hydro” series water cooling blocks, pumps, and reservoirs; do not come close to comparing to EKs quality, fit and finish. No. Ek gets a bad rap due to them being the biggest producer of watercooling parts. So the sob stories are more abundant. Also, EK on multiple occasions has said do NOT use Mayhem’s system prep or just about any Mayhems rad cleaner/preparatory product. Like you I have 2 pc’s with mostly EK products.

If you look up various posts asking on brand recommendations or how people rate companies, EK is usually at the bottom. They only been relevant on consumer water cooling because of marketing. Also, some faults fall on "influencers," like techsource, for deleting his video he made a while ago because of the fanbois.

Apr 20, 2024 — I'd have to say the EK one is designed better. More CNC, less POM plastic. The PCIe bracket screws into metal on EK vs Plastic on Heatkiller. The EK one bridges the back heatsink to the front, and is more flexible with pipe orientation with swappable terminal blocks. I can't intelligently comment on say tolerances, but both seem to cool well ...

Feb 9, 2021 — Aesthetically I think EK does a really good job. And while it seems like their quality has declined over the years, the vast majority of people have no problems with them. They are often not my first recommendation but they certainly aren't anywhere close to being my last. Their products may be expensive.

Sep 6, 2021 — Radiator: Hardware Labs (GTS/GTX/L-Series), Corsair XR5/ XR7 or Bitspower SF/XF (rebranded Hardware Labs L-Series), Watercool Heatkiller Rad (L or S), XSPC (TX model is best slim rad), EK Surface rad S, P or X models. In general it is recommended that you have at least 240mm of radiator per water cooled component.

Alphacool is probably the "king" of watercooling, but Ek's parts are some of the best looking. Their flat style res/pump combos are also a great way to fit into different spots. That being said, the price to quality ratio as others have mentioned is off. Like with many high-end things, you are paying for the design.

Eh, it’s fine with good thermal pads. I dropped my 3090 FE memory temperatures from mid 100s to mid 80s by replacing the stock pads. Which should be fine for longevity. (Now it’s being watercooled, and memory is in the mid 60s - with a passive backplate. Good quality thermal pads make a big difference with hot VRAM.)
