California has decided to abandon its phase out of diesel trucks and requiring cleaner locomotives because of the incoming Trump administration.

California said on Tuesday it has withdrawn its request for a federal waiver to require commercial truckers to transition to zero-emissions vehicles, preempting an expected denial from the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump.

President-elect Trump has threatened to revoke or challenge all zero-emission vehicle rules and California’s other clean-air standards.
