Superman” writer and director James Gunn talks about the new film – his first as CEO of the new DC Studios, which is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of CNN.

“In some ways, it’s lighter. But there’s a lot of heavy stuff in the movie as well,” explained Gunn, following Zack Snyder ‘s grittier take on the role in Man of Steel (2013), Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017). “But the character himself is lighter.”
