The first bid for Sunriser Hyderabad on Day 2 of the IPL 2024 Mega Auction on Monday was Indian uncapped spinner Zeeshan Ansari for Rs 40 lakh. SRH then bought former India pacer Jaydev Unadkat for Rs 1 crore.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) approached the IPL 2025 auction with a clear vision to craft a balanced and competitive squad. Retaining a strong core of five players, the 2016 IPL champions aim to reclaim their title-winning form and address the inconsistencies that have affected their recent campaigns.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, under ODI World Cup winning skipper Pat Cummins looked like a different outfit altogether. SRH played some aggressive brand of cricket which was rare in IPL cricket. The bulk of their scoring was done by their top order batsmen Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head.

SRH IPL 2025 Squad: Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, Nitish Reddy, Mohammad Shami (Rs. 10 crore), Simarjeet Singh (Rs. 1.50 crore),Atharva Taide (Rs. 30 lakh), Abhinav Manohar (Rs. 3.20 crore), Adam Zampa (Rs. 2.40 crore), Harshal Patel (Rs. 8 crore), Ishan Kishan (Rs. 11.25 crore), Rahul Chahar (Rs. 3.2 crore).

Rishabh Pant was secured by LSG for INR 27 crore, becoming the highest-paid player in IPL history. Shreyas Iyer was the second-most expensive buy.

The IPL 2025 Auction witnessed intense bidding wars as franchises vied for top talent to strengthen their squads.  In yesterday's IPL auction 2025, a total of 72 players were sold. Out of them, 24 were overseas players.
