TAMPA, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Lightning lost a thrilling game to the Washington Capitals 5-4 on Wednesday night at AMALIE Arena, despite a hat trick from Brayden Point. Point's performance was one for the record books.

Tom Wilson scored a power-play goal with 3:26 remaining as the Washington Capitals rallied for their sixth straight road win, edging the host Tampa Bay Lightning 5-4 on Wednesday night.

With 12:35 remaining in the third period, Lindgren inched forward to block Lightning center Brayden Point's shot. Lindgren deflected it but flipped the puck back into his own goal, giving the Lightning a 4-3 lead and Point a hat trick.

The moment the puck left Charlie Lindgren’s stick, he knew what he had done. The Washington Capitals goaltender, attempting to send the puck around Amalie Arena’s end boards, instead backhanded it directly into his own net.
