Former Wisconsin guard Connor Essegian had a career outing in Nebraska's 96-79 win over South Dakota on Wednesday. The former Badger transfer went off for 29 points, five assists and two rebounds on 10-of-22 shooting and 6-of-15 from three.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers became bowl-eligible for the first time since 2016 with a 44-25 win over the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. While it is a modest milestone for Matt Rhule's program, it was also significant as several players stepped up in Pro Football Focus's weekly grades.

The Wisconsin Badgers entered the game after holding the No. 1 Oregon Ducks to just 16 points. Nebraska scored 44 points against Wisconsin, the most the Badgers surrendered all season. However, Wisconsin also scored the most points in a game since October 12 after averaging under 15 points per game.

Nebraska football finally clinched a bowl game for the first since 2016. ESPN writers Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach updated their bowl projections after Week 13, both have Nebraska going to different locations and yet facing the same team.
