Marshall Brickmam, who has died aged 85, was an Oscar- and BAFTA-winning screenwriter who helped redefine Woody Allen’s screen persona with his work on Annie Hall (1977) and Manhattan (1979).

The pair collaborated on three of Woody Allen's most famous films, including 1977's "Annie Hall" "Sleeper" (1973) and "Manhattan" (1979).

His five-decade career spanned film, television, and Broadway, and included four movies with Woody Allen alongside making movies of his own

Marshall Brickman, who penned three hit films alongside Woody Allen, died Friday. Brickman was also the brains behind "Jersey Boys" on Broadway.

In an interview, Mr. Allen describes the years he spent collaborating with Mr. Brickman, a friend, on beloved movies. Mr. Brickman died on Friday.
