Kansas got the ball first and started rolling early. Devin Neal earned seven yards on the first play of the game. Jalon Daniels hit Luke Grimm for a first down. Grimm and Neal both ran for another first. Then Neal caught a screen pass and broke a couple of tackles to take it 51 yards for a touchdown.

No team in FBS history with a losing record has won three straight games against ranked teams. The Jayhawks did that, taking down the Buffaloes, 37-21 as their bowl bowl eligibility is still alive.
