Texas Governor Greg Abbott and state officials labeled the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua as a "foreign terrorist organization," according to a press release Monday. While speaking at the Texas Department of Public Safety's Southeast Texas Regional Headquarters,

El Paso was thrown into the spotlight by state leaders claiming the city is "ground zero" of criminal activity by the Tren de Aragua gang.

They have a target on their back, and we are going after them. Texas is the wrong state for them to try to do business in,’ Governor Abbott says.
