Police broke up a second day of protests outside a Brampton, Ont., Hindu temple where violent weekend clashes led to arrests and added fuel to already fiery Canada-India diplomatic relations.

In response to extremist activities in Canada, Donald Best backed India’s concerns over unchecked immigration policies. He noted the rising influence of Khalistani separatists and emphasised the detrimental effects on Canada’s social services and overall stability.

Canadian Police knew that one of its officials, who was found involved in the violent protest by extremists at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton and has been suspended, had earlier participated in Khalistani protests in October,
