DETROIT –- Brad Marchand scored with 8:30 remaining in the third period, and the Boston Bruins defeated the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday. Jeremy Swayman made 18 saves for the Bruins (10-9-2), who improved to 2-0-0 under interim coach Joe Sacco.

The Bruins prevailed, 2-1, ending the Wings' two-game point streak. "We played hard, we competed," captain Dylan Larkin said. "We just came up short. There’s a lot of learning in this game and I thought we matched their compete.
