The first artwork done by a humanoid robot, famously known as Ai-Da, has been sold in auction for over $1 million.

Artificial intelligence ventured into new territories when Ai-Da, the robot artist’s painting, sold for $1.08 million at a closed auction in New York. The drawing was of the British mathematician Alan Turing.

Art broker Sotheby’s has sold artwork made by the world’s first “ultra-realistic” humanoid AI robot Ai-Da for more than $1m – significantly higher than original estimations, which were between $120,000 and $180,000.
