A top adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin was asked on Friday if Moscow will be sending a representative to President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration following news China's vice president will attend the event.

Trump on Thursday announced on his Truth Social platform that the trio will be “special envoys” and his “eyes and ears” in Tinseltown in a bid to boost the U.S. movie industry, which he claimed “has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries.” Critics, though, scorned and mocked the news.

Shou Zi Chew thanked the incoming president for efforts to "find a solution that keeps TikTok available in the United States."

In July 2020, then-President Donald Trump told reporters he would ban TikTok. The next month, he signed an executive order seeking to ban the app.
