Over a month’s worth of rain could strike in just 12 hours over the weekend, as the Met Office issues yellow weather warnings for large areas of England and Wales. Flooding, power cuts and travel disruption are also possible, as the UK braces for three consecutive weather warnings lasting from Saturday morning until 11.59pm on Monday.
Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms Winchester
A YELLOW weather warning is in place for thunderstorms and rain in Winchester and Romsey. The Met Office issued the yellow warning, which is in place from today, Saturday, September 21, to Monday, September 23. Thunderstorms are expected throughout the day on Saturday, with heavy rain predicted for Sunday and Monday.
The Met Office predicts that 80-100mm of rain could fall in some places on Monday.
The warning is in force from 00:01 on Monday 23 September until 23:59.
