TikTok is looking to Elon Musk for insight into the controversial app’s future ahead of Donald Trump’s coming administration. Musk, who is one of the president-elect’s closest confidants, also owns rival platform X.

TikTok CEO Shou Chew has been reaching out to President-elect Trump confidante Elon Musk, who also owns X, in an effort to find out the new administration's tech policy plans.

As TikTok faces a ban in the United States if it does not divest from its China-based owner, the CEO of the popular social media platform has reportedly been messaging Elon Musk on topics ranging from President-elect Donald Trump’s second administration to potential tech policy it could implement.
