MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Chantal made landfall overnight Sunday in Georgetown County, South Carolina, WMBF reports.

Tropical storm force winds may bring gusts up to 57 mph along the North Carolina coast and south through Charleston, South Carolina.

Tropical storm warnings were issued for portions of the two states, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said.
