Frederick Forsyth's classic novel has returned in a new adaptation on the small screen, and The Day of the Jackal has been renewed for season 2.

"The Day of the Jackal," Peacock and Sky’s original thriller starring Eddie Reymayne, has been greenlit for a second season.

Peacock and Sky have announced that Eddie Redmayne ’s assassin thriller series The Day of the Jackal will be getting a second season. The news comes a little over a week about the the series premiered and it sounds like it’s doing really well in the ratings.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Day Of The Jackal “ranked among the top five original streaming series in the U.S. for its opening weekend, based on preliminary Nielsen data,” and in the U.K. became Sky Atlantic’s best series debut in two years.

The new Peacock series, starring Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch, adapts the 1971 Frederick Forsyth novel and sets the action in the present day.
