Just over a month after being let go by the Atlanta Braves, the former members of the hitting staff were hired by the Seattle Mariners

While the Atlanta Braves felt as though former hitting coach Kevin Seitzer was the wrong voice for them, the Mariners clearly feel differently.

The Mariners are bringing Edgar Martinez back in a part-time coaching role, and are set to hire a new hitting coach, sources confirmed to The Seattle Times.

The Atlanta Braves announced that they have hired two new assistant hitting coaches. Hugh Quattlebaum and Carlos Méndez will serve alongside the recently hired hitting coach, Tim Hyers. Both coaches will be on a Major League coaching staff for the first time in their careers.

The Mariners are expected to formally announce their 2025 coaching staff in the coming days, potentially as soon as Tuesday, and Edgar Martinez will indeed return but in a broader role, specifically overseeing the club’s overall hitting program,
