The longtime Laredo congressman fended off Republican challenger Jay Furman despite a federal indictment accusing the incumbent of bribery and money laundering.

The Democratic congressman was indicted on multiple charges earlier this year, but narrowly secured another term.

U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar won reelection Tuesday night, according to The Associated Press, a sign voters still support the Democrat despite a looming federal trial on bribery charges.
