Snapchat’s creator has a new version of its glasses, and a vision for more approachable augmented reality. But it’s still a preview, not a commercial product.

Snap also unveiled a new, simplified version of the Snapchat app and announced a range of generative AI features for consumers, creators, and developers.

The AR glasses aren’t available to the general public, but that hasn’t stopped criticism over the gadget’s limited battery life and field of view.

Augmented reality glasses overlay digital images onto a person’s view of the physical world. They’re different from virtual reality headsets that fully immerse people into a computer-generated environment.
