Another earthquake of a relatively minor 2.0 magnitud e was recorded overnight in approximately the same spot as Monday’s 3.8-magnitude quake off the coast of Maine, according to the United State Geological Survey.

An earthquake off the coast of Maine rattled parts of Massachusetts around 10:22 a.m. Monday morning. According to data from the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake originated about 11 kilometers, or roughly seven miles, southeast of Maine's York Harbor. It is currently being measured at a 3.8 on the earthquake magnitude scale.

The rumbling was felt shortly after 10:20 AM from central Maine all the way down to Rhode Island. According to the USGS, the epicenter was roughly 7 miles southeast of York Harbor, Maine.

YORK, Maine (WGME) -- Another small earthquake was reported off the coast of Maine on Wednesday morning. The United States Geologic Survey (USGS) reported a 2.0 magnitude earthquake occurred about 6 miles southeast of York Harbor. This was the same area where a 3.8 magnitude earthquake shook parts of Maine on Monday.

After initial reports of a magnitude of 4.1. – and then 3.9 – earthquake striking the area, it was later confirmed that a 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of New England on Monday morning.
