PONTIAC, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - A Pontiac man is accused of robbing a co-worker of $12,000 in cash; shortly before he was shot and robbed of some of that stolen money. "The victim will be prosecuted for his own alleged crimes, but those crimes don't justify what happened to him," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said in the press release.
The suspects were arrested within days of the shooting and collectively face charges including murder, armed robbery and illegal weapons possession.
PONTIAC, MI – Officials are investigating after a 66-year-old businessman was shot and killed in Oakland County. According to WXYZ-TV in Detroit, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a business in the 1000 block of University Drive in Pontiac at 8 p.m. on Monday.
Officials said the getaway driver stole a portion of the money from the accused burglar, local news outlets reported.
Once inside, they fatally shot the victim, zip-tied him and put a bag over his head. Bouchard says the three then stole about 50 pounds of marijuana.
Investigators in Michigan linked the trio to the fatal shooting of Simko, a business owner in the Pontiac, Michigan area.
Soldiers with the Michigan Army National Guard 1775th Military Police Command, based at the Pontiac Armory received honorary tributes from government officials, Jan. 12.
The trooper was taken to a local hospital with a lower leg injury and later released. Another trooper in the patrol car was not injured.
The west side of the state will see the brunt of a winter storm moving into Michigan this morning, but most of the Lower Peninsula will be affected.
