Both players are facing potential suspensions after drawing match penalties during the chaotic closing seconds of Saturday's game in Vancouver.

Sidney Crosby is one of them. McDavid, after being held to the ice by Vancouver’s Conor Garland for a handful of seconds in the final moments of the Canucks’ 3-2 win on Saturday, lost his temper and cross-checked the Canucks forward in the face. It earned McDavid a three-game suspension, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced Monday.

NEW YORK (AP) — Three-time NHL MVP Connor McDavid has been suspended three games for cross-checking Vancouver’s Conor Garland in the head.

Cherry continued by saying that “he should go to Buffalo” after learning of the most recent potential Pettersson trade proposal. Cherry’s son, Tim, added on by claiming that both Pettersson and J.T. Miller should “go home” to fix the reported rift between them.
