Spencer Knight made 34 saves for his second shutout of the season and the Florida Panthers beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-0 on Saturday night to open a home-and-home set.

Backup goalie Spencer Knight made 34 saves to lead the host Florida Panthers to a 3-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night in Sunrise, Fla.

Panthers goaltender Spencer Knight is 4-1 with 133 saves on 142 shots (.937 save percentage) with a 1.61 goals-against since Dec. 22.

SUNRISE, Fla. -- Spencer Knight made 34 saves for his second shutout of the season, and the Florida Panthers won 3-0 against the Anaheim Ducks at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday. Jesper Boqvist, Anton Lundell, and Gustav Forsling scored for Florida (27-17-3), which has won two of three and visits Anaheim on Tuesday. Knight also had an assist.

The Florida Panthers did not have Sam Reinhart for much of their game against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night, but they had Spencer Knight. That and a second-period goal from Jesper Boqvist was enough for a win.

There was a brick wall in the crease on Saturday at Amerant Bank Arena, his name is Spencer Knight.  Knight backstopped the Florida Panthers to a 3-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks as he tied his career-high with two shutouts on the season.

Sam Reinhart leads the Panthers in goals (27) and points (51), while Matthew Tkachuk is second in both points (40) and assists (26). Recently named the “Athlete of the Year” in his native Finland, captain Aleksander Barkov ranks third in points (38) and first in assists (27).

The Florida Panthers needed a little spark coming into Saturday after winning four of their past 10 games. One would have thought it would be on the offensive side of the ice to do it, but no, it was their goalie.
