Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers went into the medical tent in the second quarter of Saturday's home finale against the Kentucky Wildcats after

Redshirt junior Quinn Ewers participated in Senior Day activities ahead of Saturday's football game against Kentucky.

At one point in the game, Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers went down with an ankle injury in the first half. While head coach Steve Sarkisian said that Ewers was "fine," it was clear throughout the game that the leg was bothering him, and limiting his mobility.

The third-year starter's future status has yet to be confirmed despite reports revealing he's expected to declare for the NFL draft, but Saturday's game was being treated as the final home game of his Texas career. He and the Longhorns got off to a hot start in the first half, going up by as many as 17 points.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers told reporters Saturday that his ankle was "a little tender" after the Longhorns' 31-14 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats, and coach Steve Sarkisian added that the ankle "just kind of kept tightening up on him" in the win.

Quinn Ewers passed for 191 yards and two touchdowns while playing the final two and a half quarters with a gimpy right leg as No. 3 Texas handled Kentucky 31-14 on Saturday in a Southeastern Conference dustup in Austin,

"It's just a little tender," Ewers told reporters. "I'm going to do as much treatment as I can." Texas coach Steve Sarkisian told reporters that Ewers' ankle kept getting tight on him, which played a role in shifting to the run game in the second half.

Texas football is preparing for the final home game of the season against Kentucky on Saturday, and during the Senior Day festivities, quarterback Quinn Ewers is expected to be recognized, according to CJ Vogel of On Texas Football.
