A 12-year-old boy was arrested after reportedly stealing his grandfather’s car and fleeing from Grant County deputies.

The boy, who has not been identified, led police on a brief pursuit after being spotted with the stolen vehicle.

A 12-year-old drove 161 miles across the Cascade Mountains to Eastern Washington before he was seen by deputies and led them on a chase. Police in Issaquah notified the Grant County Sheriff’s Office that the boy had stolen his grandfather’s car and might be headed to Moses Lake.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, no one was injured in the chase and damage to the vehicle was described as “minimal"
