Meta-owned Instagram has been making significant changes to how the social media site operates and recommends content, especially focusing on original content in Instagram recommendations and creating a safer online environment for teens .

Instagram tries to engage you in scrolling through numerous reels or feeds through its recommendations based on your interests, which can now be fully reset.

Instagram users will soon be able to manually reset the recommendation algorithm that determines what they see in their feeds.

Instagram already allows users to curate their recommendations by labeling specific posts as "interested" and "not interested," as well as hide content with captions that contain certain words or phrases. Instagram has also debuted other features related to teen safety and well-being in recent months.

If your recommendations went rogue, though, you can now reset it on Instagram. Instagram is rolling out new features to give users, especially teens, greater control over their content and recommendations.

Instagram is testing the ability for users to reset their recommendations, the company announced on Tuesday. By resetting your recommendations, you would be starting fresh and retraining the app’s algorithm about the content you enjoy across your Explore page, home feed, and Reels tab.

Instagram will soon give you the ability to reset your algorithm. If you're seeing posts you have no interest in, this could be an opportunity to fix it.
