Police responded just after 1 p.m. Friday to a report of a shooting near Southfield Drive and Lockberry Avenue, in a residential area off the east side of Groveport Road and behind the field next to South Side Preparatory Academy (the old Clarfield School),

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person died following a shooting in south Columbus Friday afternoon. According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers were called out to Southfield Drive and Lockberry Avenue for a reported shooting around 1:15 p.m.

One person is dead after a shooting Friday afternoon in the Marion-Franklin neighborhood. Columbus police responded to a call about 1 p.m. of a shooting near Lockberry Road and Southfield Drive. One person was found injured and rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

The person shot by a Columbus police SWAT officer, was rushed in life-threatening condition to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.
