PORTSMOUTH, Va. — One man is in stable condition after a shooting in Portsmouth Sunday afternoon. The shooting happened in the 1000 block of Taft Drive, near the intersection with Cavalier Boulevard, at about 2:10 p.m., according to a press release from the Portsmouth Police Department.

A boy is in the hospital after a shooting in Portsmouth on Friday afternoon, police said. Around 12:50 p.m., Portsmouth police responded to a call for a shooting in the 4000 block of River Shore Road.

A 17-year-old was taken to the hospital Friday after a shooting in Portsmouth, police said in a release. Around 12:51 p.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting in the 4000 block of River Shore Road, which is not far from Churchland Middle School.

Police are looking for a suspect in connection to a deadly shooting, the Portsmouth Police Department said. The suspect, 27-year-old Jamel Raiquon Jones is considered armed and dangerous, police say.
