Gov. Jeff Landry said he believed President Donald Trump's team was "going back to the drawing board" to streamline federal grant spending.

Louisiana leaders react to the Trump administration’s order to pause federal loans and grants. The Hill reported that on Monday night the Trump administration directed federal agencies to temporarily pause the disbursement of loans and grants for a spending review.

"We believe that we are placing adequate resources into the state coffers to ensure stability for the time being," said Landry's statement, which was issued jointly with state Senate President Cameron Henry, state House Speaker Phillip DeVillier and state Treasurer John Fleming.
