It really feels like this year just flew by, as it’s almost time to get out the turkey for Thanksgiving. While what’s on your plate might be the most exciting part of the holiday, it’s also time for the annual National Dog Show presented by Purina.
In 2024, a ‘smug’ pug from North Carolina named Vito won Best in Show. Since the show started airing on NBC, a variety of breeds have won the coveted title, including a French Bulldog named Winston in 2022, an American Foxhound named Jewel in 2013 and a Doberman named Raisin in 2003.
Kicking off at 12 pm ET today, here's everything you need to know to check out NBC and Peacock's 2025 National Dog Show Presented by Purina.
Presented by Purina, the annual National Dog Show is a two-hour family entertainment special that's the most viewed dog show in America. Viewers can tune in to NBC at noon on Thanksgiving Day, right after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The event airs on NBC and will be streamed on Peacock.
Comet, a Shih Tzu who won the Toy Group, has 143 Best In Show titles and two group wins at Westminster. Neal, a Bichon Frise who won the Non-Sporting Group, has 42 Best In Show awards and a Westminster group win. Baby Joe, a Miniature Schnauzer who won the Terrier Group, is the top-ranked all-breed dog in the United States.
O'Hurley, Frei, and Carillo are all dog owners themselves. Frei has co-hosted the National Dog Show on NBC since 2002. He has also been a breeder, handler, and owner of purebeds in the dog show circuit. His Cavalier, True Dat, visits patients each week at a veterans hospital in Seattle.
