Red Star Belgrade came from a goal down to thrash visitors VfB Stuttgart 5-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday and earn their first points in the competition.

The hosts, who had lost their four previous Champions League league phase matches this season, had last won in Europe's premier competition in October 2019 when they beat Olympiacos 3-1. Stuttgart's only win in this season's campaign remains their 1-0 victory over Juventus on matchday three.

It was after half-time that the game was beyond the reach of Stuttgart as substitutes Mirko Ivanic and Nemanja Radonjic scored Red Star's third and fourth goals within minutes of each other. Radonjic added a second to his tally for the night in the 88th minute to inflict further pain on their German opposition.
