The King Center is kicking off a week-long series of events on Monday to honor civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ahead of the national holiday observance on Jan. 19.

Tributes to Dr. King will kick off Monday and wrap up on the 19th with the MLK Day Service Project. In Augusta, activities will include “Together We Win,” the 39th annual Martin Luther King Jr. memorial celebration at Greater Young Zion Baptist Church.
