Chris Bassitt pitched six strong innings, Davis Schneider hit a home run and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 6-1 on Tuesday night in a game that was shortened to seven innings because of rain.

The Blue Jays did a majority of their damage in the third inning against White Sox starter Aaron Civale. Toronto left fielder Davis Schneider led off with a solo home run on a 3-2 slider. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added another run with a double down the third base line, scoring George Springer, who Civale walked on six pitches.

The Chicago White Sox fell to 32 games under .500 for the first time this season after a rain-shortened 6-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday.
