Investor Warren Buffett renewed his Thanksgiving tradition of giving by announcing plans Monday to hand more than $1.1 billion of Berkshire Hathaway stock to four of his family's foundations, and he offered new details about who will be handing out the rest of his fortune after his death.

At 94 years old, Buffett is still going strong, but he wrote in a surprise letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders on Monday: “Father time always wins … To date, I’ve been very lucky, but, before long, he will get around to me.”

Tomorrow’s decisions are likely to be better made by three live and well-directed brains than by a dead hand,” wrote Buffett, whose lifetime giving of over $60 billion makes him likely the most prolific philanthropist ever.
