Troy police officers shot and critically injured a man early Monday morning after the man fired on officers at the end of a foot chase, police said.

Officials in Troy say a man was shot and critically wounded by city police around midnight Monday after a foot chase. But many details are still unknown.

One man is in the hospital after an overnight shootout with police in Troy. So far, police tell us they saw a man with a gun near this area at 10th Street and Jacob Street around midnight. Officers said he ran away when they talked with that man.

Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello and Chief of Police Daniel DeWolf held a press conference to discuss an officer-involved shooting that took place early on Monday morning. Troy Police stated the investigation is active and ongoing.
