Stock Market Today: Dow surges to record high, dollar leaps on Europe risks
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 426.16 points, or 0.97%, to finish the session at 44,296.51, while the S&P 500 gained 0.35% to close at 5,969.34, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq inched up 0.16% to end the day at 19,003.65.
Stock market today: Wall Street edges higher as it heads for a winning week
Stocks edged higher in midday trading on Wall Street Friday, keeping the market on track for its fifth gain in a row. The S&P 500 was up 0.1% and is solidly on track for a weekly gain that will erase most of last week's loss.
The Dow jumped more than 450 points and the S&P 500 inched up. A decline in some mega-cap tech names weighed on the Nasdaq.
