Videos circulating on social media show blazing fires and masses of smoke in South Carolina. Wildfires across the Carolinas have forced evacuations of multiple neighborhoods, particularly in the Carolina Forest area near Myrtle Beach.

Firefighters continue to battle the 1,600-acre wildfire burning near Myrtle Beach. The fire started on Saturday, and quickly exploded in size.

With dry conditions across the Carolinas creating tinderbox conditions, wildfires are burning in the region. The largest fire in the Upstate is a nearly 500-acre blaze near Landrum in Polk County along the South Carolina-North Carolina that has required evacuations and was 30% contained as of the morning of March 3.
