Patrick Mahomes will probably find a new way to celebrate a big play moving forward. The Kansas City Chiefs' star quarterback was fined over $14,000 by the NFL for what was deemed a "violent gesture" during Kansas City's Week 11 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

With the Chiefs at the Buffalo one-yard line at the 7:53 mark of the final quarter, Mahomes hit tight end Noah Gray for a short touchdown pass to decrease the Bills' lead to 23-21. In celebration, the three-time Super Bowl MVP gave the finger guns gesture using both of his hands.

The NFL is trying to make an example out of Mahomes after what appeared to be a run-of-the-mill touchdown celebration last Sunday.

The 29-year-old Mahomes initially injured his left ankle back in Week 8, when he tweaked it late in the 27-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. A week later, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he appeared to aggravate the injury.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs are signing left tackle D.J. Humphries to a one-year deal. The contract, per Rapoport, was negotiated by Humphries's agency, AMDG Sports, and pays him $2 million with a maximum value of $4.5 million.
