The Sandman, Season 2, Volume 1 (six episodes) premieres Thursday on Netflix. Volume 2 (five episodes), premieres July 24, with a bonus episode July 31.

An excerpt from the review read, “The Sandman is not short of ideas, but it smothers them all in a fug of pretension, missing every opportunity it creates for itself. The fact that Morpheus has the ability to access humans’ dreams – to mould them and make them real – barely features.

The first six episodes dropped on Thursday (July 3), with the second five arriving later this month on July 24. Ahead of the season, Netflix released a teaser trailer for The Sandman season two, which did not mention Gaiman by name.
