By Wednesday evening, enough Republicans remained opposed to the Senate’s version of the bill to effectively stall its passage in the House.

The House remained frozen in place all day Wednesday as party leaders labored to address the concerns of Republican holdouts who were resisting changes the Senate made to the party’s major policy bill.

House Republicans muscled the “big, beautiful bill” through a procedural hurdle on the floor on Wednesday night, setting the legislation up for a final vote.
