The Lufthansa Group has revealed more plans for ITA Airways as its post-merger planning process accelerates following European Commission approval.

The European Commission said on Friday it had approved a package of remedies proposed for Lufthansa's acquisition of a minority stake in Italy's ITA Airways, in which EasyJet , IAG and Air France-KLM would secure more routes.

In turn, IAG and Air France-KLM have been approved as the remedy takers for long-haul routes between Italy and North America. The agreement focuses on interline agreements and slot swaps, and does not mandate that either of the holdings launches direct transatlantic flights from Italy.
