KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Scott Erland with the Knoxville Police Department has told WVLT News that a West High School Student was arrested on Tuesday morning with a gun on school property. A KPD School Resource Officer at West High School was notified Tuesday that a 15-year-old student had potentially brought a gun to school, Erland said.

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56) — Two people were arrested Wednesday in Knox County after alleged sodomy and sexual abuse against a minor. The Knox County Sheriff’s Department said 44-year-old Gary Branson and 42-year-old Laci Brown, both of Bailey Switch, were arrested after a Kentucky State Police investigation.

Eighteen Knox County Schools were designated as high-achieving reward schools and six are in need of serious improvement.
