The Minnesota Timberwolves head to Madison Square Garden to face the New York Knicks in a non-conference matchup. The Timberwolves are 21-19, which puts them in eighth place in the Western Conference. The Knicks are 27-15, which puts them in third place in the Eastern Conference.

The Knicks, meanwhile, were inefficient offensively without Karl-Anthony Towns, who sat in street clothes — though not in Eagles gear this time — while nursing a sprained thumb. Jalen Brunson scored 26 points but shot just 9-for-23 with five assists. No other Knick had 20 points.

The Wolves had the defenders in Edwards, Alexander-Walker and Jaden McDaniels to seemingly wear down New York’s star point guard Jalen Brunson. Outside of an unexpected 18-point, first-half explosion from Cam Payne, the Knicks found no real consistent offense throughout the evening.
