He earned his first Pro Bowl bid at 32 years old and even garnered some back-ballot MVP votes. Last season, he led the entire NFL in fourth quarter comebacks and game-winning drives.

The Seattle Seahawks have taken down the Arizona Cardinals at home by a score of 16-6 in a rainy and loud playoff type atmosphere. Following on the heels of their upset win over the San Francisco 49ers last week,

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith delivered in one of the season’s biggest moments and boosted Seattle to a much-needed victory over the rival San Francisco 49ers.

In one fell swoop, Smith snapped the Seahawks' six-game skid against the 49ers and gave Seattle control of its playoff fate.

With a tight playoff race coming ahead in the next few weeks, Smith may have to activate his clutch gene once, twice or seven times more to help the Seahawks win. The Week 11 victory gives Macdonald confidence that the team can do it again.

Smith recently joined the Richard Sherman Podcast to discuss his performance. Smith told Sherman that he was especially motivated to end his winless streak versus the 49ers when he looked towards their sideline and noticed ex-Seahawk linebacker KJ Wright. Wright is a defensive quality control coach on Kyle Shanahan’s staff.

If Seattle wants to be the team it seeks to be, it must beat San Francisco. If Smith wants a new Seahawks deal, it’d sure help.
