England suffered a heavy nine-wicket semi-final defeat by defending champions India to crash out of the Under-19s T20 World Cup. After choosing to bat first, England were in a healthy position at 81-2 before the loss of six wickets for 11 runs meant they stuttered to 113-8 from 20 overs.

England overcame Varun Chakravarthy’s 5-24 to beat India by 26 runs in the third T20 to keep the series alive.

England got off to a strong start, but India's bowlers turned the game around, restricting them to 113. In response, India made light work of the chase, reaching the target in just 15 overs to book their place in the second successive U19 World Cup final.

India advanced to the ICC Women's U-19 T20 World Cup final by defeating England by nine wickets. Kamalini scored 56 not out, while spinners Parunika Sisodia and Vaishnavi Sharma restricted England to 113 for eight.

Indian spin trio of Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla and Vaishnavi Sharma ran through the England batting unit in Kuala Lumpur on Friday. India will face South Africa in the final on Sunday.

Kamalini's batting was all about precise placing and finding angles rather than power as England bowlers ran out of options against the left-hander.

The final of the ICC Women's U-19 T20 World Cup will witness India facing South Africa. The latter booked their final berth after beating Australia by five wickets earlier in the day. It must be noted that India and England had met in the inaugural tournament's final in 2023, where India had won.

The match officials have been announced for the semi-finals in Malaysia. India’s Gayathri Venugopalan and Nitin Bathi of the Netherlands will be in the middle for the first of the semi-finals between South Africa and Australia.
