EasyJet on Wednesday reported annual operating profit below market expectations as disruptions from the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East ate into its bottomline.

The carrier reported headline pre-tax profits of £610 million for the year to September 30, up from £455 million 12 months earlier.

The budget airline carried 7% more passengers in the most recent 12-month period at 89.7 million, while trading was also boosted by strong demand for easyJet Holidays

EasyJet said on Wednesday that it expects its capacity to increase by 3% in fiscal 2025 after reporting a smaller-than-expected annual operating profit due to disruptions from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Strength at easyJet Holidays helped pre-tax profits rise 34% during the 12 months to September, to £610 million.
