Only one week remains in the 2024 college football regular season. With 11 games down, awards finalists are being announced left and right and the Doak Walker Award finalists have been honored.

Iowa junior running back Kaleb Johnson has been honored as a finalist for the 2024 Doak Walker Award, it was announced Tuesday by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum. In its 33rd year, the award is named after SMU’s three-time All-America running back Doak Walker.

Johnson was named as a finalist for the Doak Walker Award. Presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding collegiate running back, the award was created in 1989 and named after the 1948 Heisman Trophy winner from SMU, Doak Walker. Johnson joins Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton.

Kaleb Johnson has set single-season school records in points (132), touchdowns (22), and rushing scores (21), and still has one regular-season game to play this Friday against Nebraska.

BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has been named a finalist for three national awards. Jeanty is eligible for the Doak Walker Award (Premier Running Back), Maxwell Award (Player of the Year), and the Walter Camp Award (Most Outstanding Player).

Iowa Hawkeyes football RB Johnson has another season of college eligibility left but can also elect to forgo that and pursue a future in the NFL.
